Colin Farrell was born as Colin James Farrell on May 31, 1976, in Castleknock, Dublin. Born to mother Rita Farrell a homemaker and father Eamon Farrell who played football for Shamrock Rovers FC and ran a health food shop. He is the nephew of Irish footballer Tommy Farrell who played for Shamrock Rovers just like his dad.

Colin grew up alongside brother Eamon Farrell Jr and two sisters Claudine Farrell and Catherine Farrell. His brother Eamon is a choreographer and drama teacher who was married to actress Amelia Warner. His sister Claudine works as his personal assistant.

Farrell attended St Brigid National school in his hometown followed by secondary school at Castleknock College, a private school and then Gormanston College based in County Meath. During his time at college, he auditioned for the Irish musical group but did not get selected. Due to which he started to focus on acting because of his brother’s encouragement and influence of Henry Thomas‘s performance in Steven Spielberg’s science-fiction E.T Extra-Terrestrial.

He attended Gaiety school of acting before dropping out after getting the offer to act as Danny Byrne on BBC drama Ballykissangel. He played the role of young English priest in the 1996 released drama series.

During that time his career nearly came to an end after suspected of attempted murder during his travel at Sydney at the age of 18. He came in the radar of police after his looks matched with the sketch authority had created for the case. Also, things got quirky after the authorities find out he had blacked out during the night in question.

Fortunately one of his friends had kept a journal that explained the two had been across town that night taking Psychoactive drugs named Molly. After that, he focused on his career and signed his first feature film directed by Tim Roth, The War Zone.

The 43-year-old actor officially dated model Kim Bordenave from January 2002 to December 2003. Sadly they separated after a year and shared a son together. Similarly, after breaking up with Kim he dated Irish model and medical student Muireann McDonnell for a year before having a relationship with Britsh-American Writer Emma Forrest. The couple dated for a year and had planned to share a child before ending their relationship in 2009.

Additionally, Collin didn’t stop there since he again was in a relationship with Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś. The pair met in 2009 on the Bere Island, West Cork, set of the film Ondine, in which they co-starred. One more time he ended the relationship with the actor in 2010 after sharing a son together.

As of now, Colin is most probably single and focused on his career. As per reports, he is busy raising his children and often visits Alicja during Christmas and holidays.

Farrell has had multiple relationships throughout his life. At first, he dated singer Amelia Warner from July 2000 to November 2001. Also, speculation grew that they married which Collins denied saying ”Too fast, too young”. They dated for a couple of years before separating.

The rumor started after they were seen hand in hand for a photograph at Premiere od Al Pacino starrer ”The Recruit”. Although they were seen locking lips at L.A, Collin denied the rumor saying they were just friends and nothing. After Britney, his name was linked to Playboy playmate model Nicole Narain, actress Maeve Quinlan, and Demi Moore after they attended the Golden Globes part together. Also, he linked with model Josie Maran.

Additionally, he became a hot topic in showbiz after his name was linked with actress Angelina Jolie. The speculation started after they were spotted dancing at the capital’s Cafe Royal nightclub on November 22, 2003, before dashing off to Jolie’s suite at the nearby Dorchester hotel. Colin is the father of two children from his relationship. He became father to a son named James Padraig Farrell with Kim Bordenave. The couple welcomed their child on September 12, 2003, in Fairfax California. Currently, 16 year lives with her mother and shares a close relationship with his father.
